Chiropractic Manipulation

A chiropractic manipulation or adjustment is the most common chiropractic service provided by chiropractors. It is a procedure in which a very gentle and specific force (hands or a hand-held tool) is used to induce motion into a restricted joint. The audible "pop" or "cracking" sound, comparable to cracking a knuckle, is due to a small amount of gas being released from within the joint space. Once motion has been restored, one will often notice an increase in range of motion and mobility as well as a decrease in pain or discomfort. Research has come to show that chiropractic treatment can help with conditions such neck pain, low back pain, shoulder and knee pain, rib dysfunction, headaches and more.

Soft-Tissue Mobilization

Research shows that muscle "tension" or "tightness" in the body can lead to joint dysfunction if left untreated. For this reason it's crucial to address the surrounding musculature when addressing the spine. The main goal of soft-tissue mobilization is to break up "adhesions" within the muscle or surrounding "soft-tissues" such as fascia, tendons & ligaments to ease the tension in these areas. Soft-tissue work can be performed either hands-on (trigger point therapy, myofascial release technique, deep tissue massage, to name a few) or with the use of an instrument (Myobar, Hawkgrips, and so forth). By using a combination of the aforementioned in conjunction with joint mobilization through chiropractic manipulations/adjustments, we can help address not just your problem areas but secondary areas that may have been affected.

Stretching/Strengthening Rehabilitation

We understand the importance of strength and movement training when it comes to recovery. Aside from supervised therapy during our sessions, you will also be given "homework", exercises and stretches to perform at home/gym in between treatments to help address your injury and work closer to your goals. Consistency with your recommended rehab will ensure that you stay feeling better for longer and will help you to prevent flare-ups.

Kinesiotape Application

Kinesiotape is not your typical athletic tape that you may be used to. It's designed to move with your body and provide support where needed without compromising range of motion. Most common uses: decrease inflammation, cues postural form while improving body awareness, delays fatigue, and decreases pain.

Cupping

-Cupping is a type of alternative therapy that involves placing cups on the skin to create suction which increases blood circulation to the area where the cups are placed. This technique is used to help ease pain, relieve muscle tension, enhance  blood flow, remove toxins, decrease inflammation and promote cell repair.

***'Cupping may temporarily produce a red or purple circular areas, the tissue is not bruised or injured. Instead, the skin's lifting has increased local circulation, allowing stagnant blood, fluid, and toxins to come to the surface so the body can dissolve it more easily.'***
